特徵描述

形態特徵

Tree ferns with trunks to 6 m or more tall, about 15 cm in diameter.
Stipes usually green above, purplish beneath, 5 cm thick, caducous, leaving large prominent scars; stipe, rachis and rachillae tuberculate; scales of conform type, linear-lanceolate, buff, margins bearing setae, easily abraded, those near base of stipe about 4 cm long.
fronds large, tripinnatifid, 1.5-2 m long; pinnae up to 50-80 cm long, pinnules acuminate-caudate, sessile, usually 8-14 cm long; lower surface bearing numerous pale small thin fimbriate scales along costa and stiff pale hairs near the apex of the casta; underside of costules bearing many larger thin white lacy fimbriate scales; uppersurface hispid along rachilae and costae; ultimate segments entire; veins free, once forked. Sori round, exindusiate.
